A unique survivor of Britain's industrial age, Queen Street Mill tells the story of life in the cotton-weaving mills, and the innovation of engineers throughout the decades. This Heritage Open Day you can explore the mill for free and see demonstrations of original textile machinery including our 130-year-old Lancashire Looms as well as a traditional handloom and spinning wheel. With authentically dressed staff, entertainment, and exclusive access to some of the museums behind-the-scenes areas. Plus crafts activities for families and guided tours.
