Heritage Open Day: We welcome you to come along for a guided walk around the top lock section of the Tardebigge canal flight. A true example of form to function where 200 years ago Architecture and Design meant time and money. Volunteer guides will provide a snapshot of canal building endeavours and explain the aims of water management from the summit of the longest narrow lock flight in Britain. The story of the Wharf and the surrounding landscape is placed into context visiting the current wharf and sites of past quays, quarries, rail tracks, lime kilns and the site of the experimental boat lift which today is replaced with a double depth lock and has recently been the site of a major repair and conservation project...
