Discover what life was like in a Norman castle and medieval manor house. As part of Heritage Open Days, we are inviting you to discover Cainhoe Castle on Saturday 13th September. Cainhoe Castle is a nationally significant Norman motte and bailey castle, with later medieval manor and fishponds, located within Clophill Lakes Nature Reserve. Throughout the day, there will be information tables, engaging interpretation, and craft activities to discover more about Cainhoe Castle and what life was like in a Norman castle. Come down and learn about the fascinating history on your doorstep. Please note: all activities are completely free, but parking charges do apply for Clophill Lakes Nature Reserve.
