The Rest House (part of Bournville Heritage Open Day)

Heritage Open Day: Situated in the centre of Bournville Village Green, The Rest House was paid for by the employees of Cadbury Brothers Ltd to commemorate the Silver Wedding Anniversary of George and Elizabeth Cadbury on 19 June 1913. The design of the Rest House is taken from a medieval butter market in Dunster, Somerset and recreated in his own style by architect William Alexander Harvey, as part of the garden village of Bournville. This year, the Rest House will house a special exhibition marking the 125th anniversary of Bournville Village Trust's founding in 1900. The exhibition is titled 'The Museum of Us' and explores the lived experiences of those who have contributed to its' unique heritage, highlighting some of the people, objects, and events that have made it what it is today...
