Quakers Close, Chestnut Hill, Nailsworth, Stroud GL6 0RA Heritage Open Day: Historic Quaker Meeting House In Nailsworth, Gloucestershire open to visitors The Quaker Meeting House on Chestnut Hill in Nailsworth, Stroud, Gloucestershire is listed Grade II . It has been used as place of worship by Quakers - the Religious Society of Friends - since 1680. Thought to have been originally a barn, it was repurposed and has been adapted over the years refelcting its history. The main Meeting Room still retains its wooden panelling and and also the elders benches on a raised dais, although these are no longer in use. In the upstairs room and landing, which has limited access, historical graffiti can be seen cut into the stone cills.
