Heritage Open Day: This church, formed from the ruins of the Abbey's slipper chapel, serves those who live in the hamlet of Rievaulx, next to the world-famous Rievaulx Abbey. It was rebuilt by Temple Moore in 1906-07 with his trademark painted wagon roof and tower. This historic building with its spectacular stained glass window of the Nativity was originally the 'Slipper Chapel' (or Gate Chapel) at the entrance to Rievaulx Abbey (some of the 13th century masonry is still visible).
