Heritage Open Day: A tour of the station's railway heritage items, guided by a member of the local volunteer group. The tour includes flags, running-in boards, unique totems and the 'Platform for Art', in particular poems celebrating Railway 200. The Friends of Handforth Station group, formed in 1996, was the first of what are now over 1,000 such groups throughout the UK. As well as representing the views of the users of the station, they aim to make Handforth Station an attractive and welcoming place.
