Heritage Open Day: A 12th century church nestling on the edge of Grimston Park. Has late Norman features and a host of interesting items inside. These include Saxon crosses, a Roman memorial plaque, a Roman child's coffin, and three amazing stained glass windows. Explore this wonderful 12th c. Norman church with its Roman tombstone, Saxon crosses and mediaeval treasures, including a 15th century Austrian window of international significance. The church lies on the edge of the parkland of the Grimston Park Estate. The church has a Norman door and arches in the nave and a Norman font. Inside there are some well preserved Anglo Saxon crosses (c.890) and a Roman memorial slab (from the Forum in Rome) brought to the church in the 19th century...
