St Nicholas Chapel, St. Ann's Street, King's Lynn PE30 1LT Heritage Open Day: Lace Making and shanty men in this historic chapel, the biggest in England. This light-filled building is the largest parochial chapel in England – but bigger than some cathedrals – and was built as a chapel-of-ease (‘easy to get to’) for St Margaret's Priory and parish church, which retained control over it. Most of the chapel was rebuilt between 1380 and 1410. Like many harbour churches, it is dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen and sailors.
