Heritage Open Day: Find out more about the Lowestoft Schools Evacuation of June 1940 by viewing these special panels at the Railway Station where over 3000 schoolchildren departed from. In June 1940 several thousand children and their teachers were evacuated away from the threat of wartime bombing and invasion to safety in communities in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
