Historic Quaker Meeting House

Friends Meeting House, 79 Eastcott Hill, Friends Meeting House, Swindon SN1 3JF Heritage Open Day: The main place of interest is the meeting room itself which was built in 1904. We will have a display about its history, some personal memories and its many uses. Come and experience its peaceful atmosphere. Quaker meeting houses are intentionally simply decorated and furnished. Originally the meeting house had a plain wooden floor and benches. This has been updated but has kept to the style, which supports our quiet form of worship. The building has been used as an adult education venue, a night shelter, a counselling centre (current), a Polling Station and a place of hospitality for refugees and asylum seekers.
