Graves Park, Top of Derbyshire Lane, Sheffield S8 8QA
Heritage Open Day: An exploration of the architecture in Graves Park, once Norton Park. A Guided Walk in Graves Park: Exploring the names, settlements, buildings and ancient routes through and around the park. Starting at the main entrance to Graves Park at the top of Derbyshire Lane/Cobnar Road, join us for a guided walk through Graves Park following parts of the Old London Road, the ancient Holloway and the old public footpath, identifying features of ecological, historic and archaeological interest. As you walk, find out about landscapes, ancient woodlands and ancient settlements. Topics included will cover archaeology, history and ecology. Along the way, we will explore the shadows of the buildings that once graced this ancient landscape and will finish at the Rose Garden Café. The walk will also share information discovered during our recent National Lottery Heritage Fund supported project, including some details about the park never before included in previous walks!...
