The birthplace of writer D.H. Lawrence, and a wonderful example of a late Victorian mining home. The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is authentically restored, giving an insight into life during the era and into Lawrence's early life. The house contains many original artefacts, plus has an exhibition room with many more, including Lawrence's own water colour paintings.
