The colourful tiles as you enter represent the most important cities: at the top left is Medina, top right is Mecca. The Prayer & Education Centre is one of the two Mosques in St Ives serving the community in the town and surrounding area. Built in 1891 it is on the site of the Unicorn Inn and has been a meeting place for many different groups in the past. It has been a Non-Conformist Meeting Room, Commemoration Hall, Constitution Hall, Victory Institute, Literary Institute and Reading Rooms, North Hunts Constitutional Club, and now a Muslim Prayer & Educational Centre for St Ives and Huntingdon.
