Heritage Open Day: Thread Architects will join Lucy Newport of Castree Structural Design for a lively and fascinating discussion on how architectural and structural designing can in practice secure the heritage of a building. An exploration of the challenges of working with heritage assets, conserving historic structures, approaches to making alterations and how contemporary design can work in a heritage setting. Thread Architects have a passion for enhancing heritage assets in the face of climate change while creating vibrant new spaces. Lucy as a Conservation Accredited Engineer, a masters in the Conservation of Historic Buildings and a scholarship from the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings brings a deep understanding of the issues. A talk which will offer both inspiration and practical guidance on sustaining our built heritage for the future...
