Heritage Open Day: Teign Heritage Centre tells the story of the growth of Teignmouth & Shaldon from small fishing villages to fashionable watering places from the 18th Century. This years '1920s' Exhibition covers how certain aspects have changed over the years. This 1920s exhibition covers several aspects of life including:- tourism and hospitality, communication and transport. Within this heading as a seaside resort are included details of hotels, entertainment, and the general sea front. Under transport , the evolution of motor vehicles, different ways of going on holiday by train, ferries and railways and the founding of Haldon Aerodrome and planes flying locally.
