Heritage Open Day: The ruins of a small medieval building situated behind 'Chanters House', probably built as a Merchant's house around 1280, with existing features including doorways, windows, fireplaces and wall niches. Walls include Kent flintwork & Caen limestone. From Three Kings Yard the 13th century ruin can be seen characterised by its lancet windows surviving in the east wall. The ground floor would have been lower than the current paving. Both storeys show where the original doorways were located. Small brick arched windows have been blocked up forming wall niches at various levels. Another door can be seen to the upper floor of the north wall from Strand Street. Building materials used include Caen limestone from Normandy, bricks from the Netherlands and from nearby Richborough Roman Fort.
