Heritage Open Day: Lowestoft Arts Centre is a non-profit art centre and has a gallery manned by volunteers. There is exhibition with art work from members, also we are celebrating our 25 years here on the historic high street of Lowestoft. Lowestoft Arts Centre is located in the triangle marketplace, on the historic old high street of Lowestoft Town. It's north of the town, and the area is connected to the site of The Beach Village, also known as The Grit. There are echoes of the place as you go down to the beach via the score, with a series of steps leading you down to the space where all the homes of the local fishing families lived. The history and model of the beach village can be found in the Heritage Centre, and there are many books written about the history of the area...
