Heritage Open Day: This ancient Parish church is a hidden gem in London’s suburbia. Mentioned in the Doomsday book of 1086. History boards showing timeline from Early Iron Age. This year celebrating 150th anniversary of Victorian extension. A Grade II listed Jacobean church (1611) built on Saxon ruins with a Victorian extension (1875) and a contemporary extension (2004) within a conservation area. Ancient fields and Hogsmill River nearby. Connections with Walter de Merton and Merton College Oxford, with his coat of arms in a heraldic window with 1611 glass.
