Heritage Open Day: Open Day at the John Pike Local History Centre, Torquay Library. Displays of our best and most unusual resources, including the Olympic Regatta souvenir guide and the Great Train Robbers library ticket. Free refreshments & activities for all ages! Come and see our vast archives including local newspapers, microfilms, maps, local photographs, pamphlets covering the Bay and beyond. We even have a tram ticket from the last ever tram in Torquay. There are free guides to take home about some of the great architecture e.g. The Pavillion, and historic events in the Bay such as the Torbay Olympics. Browse our books and ask questions, volunteers and staff will be on hand to help. Activities include making paper yachts, and a local history quiz...
