Join us for a guided walk around South Moor Heritage Trail of approximately 3.5 miles starting and finishing at South Moor Memorial Park. In the 1920's South Moor was a bustling, expanding village in the expanding town of Stanley. Mines and associated housing and social provisions had been increasing since the mid nineteenth century with South Moor Memorial Park opening in July 1920 as the final piece in the jigsaw.
