St Mary's Church, Church Lane, Longworth OX13 5DY Heritage Open Day: A display within St Mary's Church, Longworth, detailing the planned restoration and alterations to the structure of the 15th Century Tower to enable a new frame to be fitted and the installation of 8 bells. As St Mary's is a grade 1 listed building a faculty was required before any work could be undertaken. To celebrate the recent granting of the faculty we are mounting a display within the 13th Century Church of St. Mary's detailing the planned restoration and alterations to the structure of the 15th Century Tower and its bells. Other than a few unsuccessful attempts the bells in St Mary's have not rung full circle for over 100 years... READ MORE>
