Heritage Open Day: Nottingham Trent University are offering visitors an opportunity to view the original Bramley apple tree and to learn about the history of the Bramley apple and why the tree is so special. NTU is the custodian of the original Bramley apple tree, located in the garden of cottages once used as a butchers shop by Matthew Bramley. Although the tree is extremely old and suffering from honey fungus, it still produces fruit. A member of NTU staff will be able to guide you through the history of the Bramley apple and explain why the tree, and its apples, are so special. The original Bramley apple tree was chosen as part of a nationwide network of 70 ancient trees dedicated to The Queen in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee in 2022...
