St Mary’s Church Shenley Church End Open Day

Sat 13 Sep:1000 - 1600; Free Entry. St Mary's Church, Dudley Hill, Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes MK5 6LL Heritage Open Day: We are open for MK HODs and the Historic Churches Ride+Stride. Come to explore 800 years of history within our church. Allow about 30 minutes to see our displays and join a mini tour, then soak up the atmosphere in a quiet moment. A warm welcome awaits at St Mary’s Church Shenley. We are able to share a wealth of information about the 800+ year history of our church. A mini self-guided tour will introduce you to the many historic features of the church – architecture , ancient graffiti, stained glass, and memorials. We will share stories about the heroes of the village who died during WW1 and are remembered in the church, in the graveyard and on the village war memorial. As part of this year’s theme – architecture - we plan to share how the church building has evolved since its early days in the 12th century. We will be open between 10:00 and 16:00.
