Heritage Open Day: Exhibition and talk about the colourful 1000-year-old history of the church, churchyard and village. This church is a medieval building housing an almost unique surviving example of ‘Laudian’ counter-reformation chancel decoration from 1626. The work has been extensively researched and information about it and other aspects of the church’s history is presented throughout. Displays include a recreation of Civil War soldiery and artifacts. Guides are on hand to talk to visitors on request. Features: 17th Century religious wall paintings, carvings, pulpit & misericords 18th century gallery, box pews, and monuments The story of ‘Bad Bobby Bannister’ - notorious Lord of the Manor and famous ghost!
