Workshop: Have a go at spinning

Saturday 20 September | West Berkshire Museum | 11am - 2pm | Free, drop-in West Berkshire Museum The Wharf Newbury RG14 5AS Have a go at spinning with natural fibre and learn about preparation and drafting using either a drop spindle or working alongside a wheel with one of our experts. Spinning wheel techniques will be demonstrated by Guild members. The Kennet Valley Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers was formed in 1977 and has a growing membership of 80. Our members are dedicated to a range of textile skills, that include core skills in weaving, spinning and dyeing, with associated crafts such as braiding, knitting, lace-making and more. Experience ranges from beginner to expert and new members are always welcome to join our group of enthusiasts.
