WiW (Woman-in-Waiting) Inspired by Tamil Sangam poetry [dated more than 2500 years ago], WiW is a new solo Dance-theatre by eminent Bharatanatyam artist Divya Kasturi essaying isolation lasered through the lens of the past that has a vibrant currency in the pulsating present. Time plays the dominant narrative in this performance. Be it the midnight that sparks off speech, words, thoughts, stories or a stillness that reverberates spiced with a mixture of anxiety, restlessness, hope, memory, despair, Divya’s distinguished artistry comes alive in this evocative one-woman solo paving the way to the ensemble second half : Genesis.
