Take on Shutlingsloe, famously known as the “Matterhorn of Cheshire,” in this challenging yet rewarding guided hike. Rising steeply above Macclesfield Forest, Shutlingsloe offers panoramic views across the Cheshire Plain and the western edge of the Peak District. From the summit, we’ll descend into the heart of Macclesfield Forest, exploring peaceful woodland trails, wide forest tracks, grassy paths, and quiet reservoirs. This route blends the drama of a mountain-style climb with the tranquility of forest walking.
