The programme includes Stephen Paulus’s The Road Home, Aaron Copland’s Four Sacred Motets, and Eric Whitacre’s intimate and tender The Seal Lullaby and This Marriage. Experience the glowing, expansive sound-worlds of Ola Gjeilo’s Ubi Caritas and Northern Lights, written while the Norwegian was living and working in the United States. American choral tradition is further reflected in works shaped by spirituals and folk song, including Deep River, Simple Gifts, and We Shall Walk Through the Valley. Together, these pieces form a portrait of American choral music that speaks of peace, love, and the enduring search for home.
