The New Quorndon Shakespeare Company is well-known for taking classical works and turning them into entertaining stage plays. This year’s Christmas offering is no exception. Jules Verne’s classic, ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ is given a time travelling twist as Phineas and Passpartout have the assistance of ‘SatNav’ in their madcap trip around the world! The adventure starts in the Reform Club in Pall Mall where they meet a number of familiar political faces keen to bet against the possibility of circumnavigating the world in only 80 days. Later on, the real character of Nelly Bly pops up as does someone remarkably similar to Donald Trump! And, because it is nearly Christmas, Santa Claus will arrive to save the day when our heroes are stranded in a snowstorm in Arkansas! Lots of song dance, silliness and humour.
