Inspired by the eventful life and groundbreaking works of writer Virginia Woolf, this was choreographer Wayne McGregor's first full length work for the Royal Ballet in 2015 winning the Olivier award for Best New Dance Production and the Critics' Circle National Dance Award for Best Classical Choreography. this sweeping and expressive ballet has been one of its big successes of the last decade. Virginia Woolf defied literary conventions to depict rich inner worlds. Woolf Works recreates the emotions, themes and fluid style of three of her celebrated novels - Mrs Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves - and captures the heart of Woolf's uniquely artistic spirit. Set to a specially commissioned score from Max Richter which uses classical and electronic sounds together with the spoken word to create an atmospheric haunting soundscape, McGregor leads a luminous artistic team to evoke Woolf's signature stream of consciousness writing style. Enter a world of heightened and startling emotions, echoes of memory and ghosts of time...
