OUR JANUARY 2026 LECTURE IN BETCHWORTH VILLAGE MEMORIAL HALL FOR MEMBERS AND VISITORS If you are not a member (we are recruiting new members now) do come as a visitor to the hall. Just pay £10 at the door. You will be warmly welcomed. . On Monday 19th January at 2.30pm The Healing Power of Plants Mankind has exploited the medicinal properties of plants for thousands of years, yet the role of plants in modern medicine is still considered to be peripheral by many people. This talk attempts to put the record straight and to show that plant products are used every day by all of us to relieve pain and suffering, to heal wounds and cure diseases. This is a talk with a very wide appeal and relevance. Our lecturer is Timothy Walker who was previously Director of the Oxford Botanic Gardens. And on February 16th at 2.30 Carpet Ride to Khiva – The Revival of 15th century Timurid Carpet Design Our lecturer Chris Aslan spent his childhood in Turkey and Lebanon, and much of his adult life in Central Asia.
