The 2026 JT Hughes Shrewsbury Regatta

Free admission for spectators Pengwern Boat Club, Kingsland, Shrewsbury SY3 7BD Why not come and watch the JT Hughes Shrewsbury Regatta on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2026. Rowing races will take place on the River Severn in Shrewsbury between English Bridge and the boathouses opposite the Quarry. There will be a race roughly every three minutes on both days and with supporters from the competing clubs cheering the crews on the atmosphere should be full of excitement. There will be races for 8's, 4's and pairs as well as quad, double and single sculling boats. Competitors will include men, women, juniors and masters. Entry to the regatta for spectators will be free of charge and you will be able to watch the racing from the river banks on both sides of the river. There will be a bar and barbecue at Pengwern Boat Club as well as other refreshments for all the family. After the racing has finished on the Saturday of the regatta, food drink and live music will be on offer in the Pengwern Boat Club boat house.
