Cornwall Folk Festival returns with five days of outstanding live music, dance and Cornish culture, opening with a high energy Nos Lowen from Skillywidden, the band that helped ignite the modern Cornish dance revival. This vibrant celebration sets the pace for a packed folk music weekend in Wadebridge. Friday highlights three rising artists shaping the future of contemporary folk: Martha Woods with her driving techno folk, Wake The River’s atmospheric, eco inspired soundscapes, and the heartfelt songwriting of Somerset’s St Fian. Saturday delivers a Celtic influenced double bill, pairing the fast, infectious bluegrass of Penzance favourites Flats and Sharps with the shimmering Eurofolk and synth pop fusion of Isle of Man duo Elizabeth Davidson Blythe and Daniel Quayle. Sunday features one of the biggest names in British folk music: multi award winning songwriter and Show of Hands frontman Steve Knightley, bringing his high energy new project The Winter Yards Band, joined by Cornwall’s acclaimed Americana duo True Foxes. Two intimate concerts at the Betjeman Centre add further depth to the festival’s programme. Friday showcases the folk jazz classical blend of Gavin Fairhall Lever, while Sunday brings Devon’s cinematic indie folk artist Detta Kenzie with guitarist Chris Cleverley. Humour fans can enjoy poet and performer Rob Barratt, known for his sharp satire and wordplay. Outdoors, the three day FAR Stage presents 28 Cornish and southwest acts, spanning traditional folk, close harmony, standout solo vocals and lively alt folk. Each day ends with high energy, crowd pleasing bands. With free music, dance displays, pub sessions and workshops, Cornwall Folk Festival offers one of the most diverse folk music experiences in the southwest...
