A full peal of the 8 bells of Rayleigh's Parish Church will be rung by an elite band of Bellringers on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May 2026. Members of The Ancient Society of College Youths founded in 1637, will ring for 3 hours, the time it takes for the 5000 plus changes in a full peal. These are the Bellringers who are called upon to ring for state occasions at St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey and so this will be an exceptionally rare opportunity to hear history in the making. The Peal will celebrate the 30th year of The Friends of Holy Trinity that has raised in excess of one million pounds for restoration work. The Bells will be rung between approx. 2.45pm and 5.45pm Guided tours of the church (not tower) will be at 3, 4 and 5pm. Local History books for purchase.
