Celebrated in her lifetime for her music of power and poise, an acclaimed concert pianist and internationally renowned composer, Farrenc was the only woman professor at the Paris Conservatoire in the whole of the 19th century. Then comes Mendelssohn's only Violin Concerto with Korean soloist Bomsori Kim, a superstar in her homeland. Lyrical and virtuosic in equal measure, it's a pinnacle of the classical repertoire and has long been one of the best-loved works in the concert hall.
