A presentation on Old Lincolnshire Medicine with expert Lincolnshire Herbalist Ali English. Local herbalist Ali English has been fascinated (and amused) by the history of herbal medicine for many years. When she isn't giggling at the exploits of long ago herbalists and bad tempered apothecaries, she can usually be found either teaching herbal students, treating patients or working on her next book. How did local people treat ailments before the big pharmaceutical industry existed? A look at the old traditional knowledge that was practiced for centuries, making use of the herbal plants available to our ancestors. Lincolnshire based medical herbalist, Ali English trained at Lincoln University, and is passionate about conveying a love of our native herbs and wildflowers.
