Mill Road, Arundel BN18 9PB
Embark on a 20-minute guided boat trip and see the wetlands from a dragonfly’s point of view, gliding low across the water. As the quiet electric boat moves through winding waterways, peaceful reed beds, and open water meadows, you can watch dragonflies dart, hover, and patrol their space. In summer, you might spot species such as the Emperor dragonfly, the curious Southern hawker, and the fast-moving Migrant hawker, while the Brown hawker blends into the plants along the banks.
Closer to the surface, look out for the Four-spotted chaser resting on reeds or the Broad-bodied chaser catching the sunlight with its colourful wings. With a guide leading the way, you’ll learn about these dragonflies, where they live, and how they grow. Alongside dragonflies, you may also see waders, reed warblers, and fish, making this a calm and fascinating way to explore wetland life from a different perspective...
