Ware care home to welcome community for nostalgic football celebration

Riverside Place, Plaxton Way, Ware, Hertfordshire SG12 7FB Excitement is building at a care home in Ware as it prepares to open its doors for a day of football-themed festivities. Care UK’s Riverside Place, on Plaxton Way, is inviting people to cheer on their nation ahead of a huge summer of sport by joining residents and team members for a very special football-themed community day on Wednesday 24th June from 9:30am-12:30pm. Locals are invited to join residents and pupils from Hertford Regional College for a variety of themed activities, including table football, quizzes and reminiscence sessions. Guests will also be treated to an assortment of themed food and beloved British football staples, including pies and delicious, decorated cakes. John, a resident at Riverside Place, said: “I’m really looking forward to the event. It’s always nice having something special happening here, and I’m excited to be part of it.” The event is part of Care UK’s ‘Goal-den Moments' initiative, which aims to bring generations together and help residents reminisce about cherished football memories with the local community. Alin Marcu, Home Manager at Riverside Place, said: “As football fever sweeps the country, we can’t wait to welcome the community for some matchday magic. “This special event allows us to honour residents’ lifelong passion for the sport.
