Briantspuddle Village Hall, Main Street, Wimborne DT2 7HT
Heritage Open Day: Discover the thatched village hall at the heart of this charming Dorset village which is part of the Bladen Estate. The thatched village hall at Briantspuddle is one of two such buildings in Dorset and was converted from a barn in the 1920s. Internally, although it has many modern facilities, a glance at the roof of the main hall will reveal its former use as a barn.
The village has workers cottages built in the Arts and Crafts style designed by Halsey Ricardo and Macdonald Gill, a magnificent war memorial by Eric Gill which are all part of the Bladen Estate - a model farm created by Sir Ernest Debenham.
There will be a small exhibition on the architecture and history of the Bladen Estate in the village hall, where refreshments will also be available...
