Heritage Open Day: Launch shipyard trail Bideford / Appledore Saturday 19 September 1100 - 1400 Pannier Pantry, Bridgeland Street, Bideford. Walking in 500 years of shipbuilding history.
Along the east bank of the River Torridge the South West Coast Path between Appledore and Bideford passes the sites of historic and active ship yards. Locally known as the ship yard path this was used by workers on their way to and from work in the yards. This self guided walk takes about 1.5 – 2 hours.
