Heritage Open Day: Visit the bedroom where Vincent Van Gogh once stayed. The great artist Vincent Van Gogh came to Ramsgate as a young man of 23 in 1876, long before he became a working artist. He was an assistant teacher at a small boarding school nearby, and lodged at 11 Spencer Square, with another teacher and some of the older boys.
