Guided Walk: Pagham Wintering Waders and Wildfowl

Guided Walk: Pagham Wintering Waders and Wildfowl Sat 16 Jan 27
Saturday 16 January, 10 am (duration 3½ hrs)
£8 per person / £5 for members
RSPB Pagham Harbour, Selsey Road, Sidlesham, West Sussex PO20 7NE Join our enthusiastic and friendly team of guides for a walk from the Pagham RSPB Visitor Centre towards Church Norton. We will be on the lookout for our winter geese, ducks, and wader visitors. Familiar wildfowl and waders such as Wigeon, Teal, Godwit, Lapwing, Greenshank, Redshank, Grey Plovers and of course Brent Geese. With luck we may see a dash of blue from a Kingfisher, a secretive Water Rail, a hovering Kestrel or the majestic Marsh Harrier. Surveying the hedgerows and fields as we walk may reveal some smaller birds that call the area home for the winter season. HOW TO GET HERE: By train, the nearest train station is Chichester, 5.5 miles away. There is a taxi rank outside Chichester station - ask to be taken to Pagham Harbour Visitor Centre, Selsey Road, Sidlesham. To cycle from the station, turn south over the level crossing down Stockbridge Road for approximately 100m, then turn left into Canal Basin. Immediately to the right is the canal path, which is the start of Route 88, currently ending at the Visitor Centre. By bus, the 51 Link service from Chichester Bus Station to Selsey stops outside the Visitor Centre. The bus station is a 2-minute walk from the train station. The journey takes 20 minutes. By bike, use Bike Route 88 from Chichester Canal Basin to the Visitor Centre. Medmerry Cycle Link connects RSPB Medmerry with RSPB Pagham Harbour...
