Grab your walking boots and join us for a guided walk around the Bore Place estate, exploring the abundance of edible wild plants that spring brings.
Foraging is an ancient skill that’s becoming increasingly popular as a way to enjoy fresh, sustainable food and reconnect with nature. In spring, the landscape bursts into life - tender new greens, herbs, and flowers appear, offering an amazing variety of wild flavours to discover and taste along the way.
Your guide, Gemma Hindi from Earthwild London, will share identification tips, ideas for how to prepare and enjoy wild ingredients in your kitchen, and guidance on harvesting safely and sustainably. She will also bring along a prepared, foraged drink and snack for you to try!
This session will also touch on the rise of the sap - with a demonstration of birch tapping (sap rising permitting!). You’ll learn about tree sap, wild sugars, and sustainable ways to collect and process them, gaining a fascinating insight into this fleeting moment in nature’s calendar.
You’ll leave feeling more confident in spotting and identifying wild foods, and inspired to look at the spring landscape with fresh eyes.
