Annual Torchlight Procession and Town Carol Service

FREE OF CHARGE WITH OPTIONAL DONATION TO THE MAYOR’S CHARITY Halstead High Street and Halstead Public Gardens CO9 1JE This traditional event will take place on Wednesday 4 December 2024 starting at the top of High Street, Post Code CO9 2UK. Torches will be handed out from 6.15pm, for a start time of 7.00pm. There will first be the blessing of the crib around the Christmas Tree at Market Hill and then a procession will walk down High Street, to Bridge Street and Trinity Street arriving at the Halstead Public Gardens (CO9 1JD) for the Annual Town Carol Service. Flaming torches (with glo-sticks for younger people) are carried by members of the public and are given free of charge by Halstead Town Council, providing a wonderful traditional spectacle; all are welcome to join in. The Carol Service is conducted by Churches Together in Halstead and will begin at about 7.30pm with free song sheets being provided; entry is free to all.
