Belsay Horse Trials is organised by Laura and Peter de Wesselow, who live at Belsay and represent the current generation of the Middleton family, alongside a committee of volunteers. Eventing is one of very few sports that genuinely allow people to compete equally, whatever their experience. Men and women, amateurs and champions, young and experienced horses all compete fairly against each other, making it truly exciting for riders and spectators. Visitors can watch the dressage, show jumping and cross country phases, there will be dog agility, fairground attractions, lots of shopping and a varied range of food stalls. This year, we will be hosting International classes and the British Pony Championships, as well as ‘Belsay Sunday’ on 5th June 2022 which will feature an exciting Arena Eventing Competition, and our already popular Inter-Hunt Relay and Pony Club Show Jumping, along with a host of other family friendly entertainments.
