Saturday 2nd October 7.30pm Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by Candlelight Celebrate the end of lockdown and the reopening of Newcastle Cathedral on Saturday 2nd October 2021 at 7:30pm, when the walls will resound to the music of Vivaldi, Handel and Mozart, played by Eva Þórarinsdóttirand the Piccadilly Sinfonietta. “Stunning” Classic FM Programme Pachelbel's Canon in D Handel's Sinfonia and Pastoral from The Messiah Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major Vivaldi's Four Seasons This will be the first concert to take place in the recently refurbished Newcastle Cathedral and represents the end of a long drought of live classical music since the Pandemic hit last spring. The Piccadilly Sinfonietta is one of the UK’s most exciting young ensembles and performs a selection of well-loved classics including music by Pachelbel, Handel and Vivaldi’s exquisite Four Seasons. The concert features breathtaking feats of technical ability from violinist sensation Eva Þórarinsdóttir, and the features the virtuoso concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith in performance of Mozart's sublime Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major The award-winning concert pianist and a favourite performer for the British Royal Family recently became the first british pianist to perform Chopin’s complete works from memory.
