Portsmouth's Civic Silver

Details
Heritage Open Day: Find out more about Portsmouth's outstanding collection of Civic Silver, which dates as far back as the early 16th Century. Portsmouth has one of the most important civic silver collections in the country, with objects dating back as far as the early 16th Century. The collection has survived civil war, world wars, bombing and revolutions. Susan Ward and James Daly will share a different object in each talk and the amazing stories behind them. You'll hear about the Town Crier, a cup that is older than the Mary Rose and a Royal Duchess. A new video will premiere on Portsmouth Museum's Facebook page at the times shown.
