James Wilton Dance, one of Europe’s most in demand dance companies, present The Storm, a whirlwind of lightning fast, super athletic movement, where acrobatics, breakdancing, martial arts and edge of the seat contact work fuse to form dance that will blow audiences away. Seven dancers of extraordinary skill, a soundtrack of thundering electro-rock specially composed by Amarok and thousands of pieces of paper combine to create a work that will astound you with its athleticism and touch you emotionally in a way that words simply can’t. The Storm grows from a light breeze and becomes something too powerful to fathom. The Russian State Ballet & Orchestra of Siberia. Protected from the outside world by Father Frost, the exquisite Snow Maiden plays innocently amongst the dancing snowflakes in the enchanted Land of Frost. Based on a traditional folk-tale, set in the snow covered landscape of the Russian countryside, this seasonal sparkler follows Snow Maiden as she dances into the human world. Captivated by the colourful village and the people who live there, she ventures too far and is swept up by feelings of love, temptation and betrayal. King and I
Our next show will be the fantastic King and I, surely a classic among musical shows. Set against a dazzling and exotic backdrop in Siam, now Thailand, the King and I is the moving story of Anna, an American governess, who tries to help the king to come to terms with the modern world, but he is unable to resist the forces of ancient customs. The conflict between Eastern and Western cultures inspired this well-loved musical, which has been revived professionally many times and is always a firm favourite with the public. The score includes "I Whistle A Happy Tune", "Hello Young Lovers", "Getting To Know You", "Something Wonderful" and "Shall We Dance?". Currently our Box Office is closed until September. When open for King and I simply click on the link below and you’ll be taken to our TicketSource page where you can purchase your tickets.

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Story of the Mother, this thrilling dance adaptation The Mother premieres in Edinburgh this December starring internationally acclaimed principle ballerina, Natalia Osipova. This enchanting production has a strictly limited run of only two performances. As a young single mother sets out to save her child, she must face impossible trials and cross the line between dreams, reality and life and death itself. Will she succumb to the forces of evil, or will the power of motherhood prevail? The Mother is a compelling, instinctive story about motherhood. With an original score by Frank Moon and Dave Price, design by Yann Seabra and lighting by David Plater, this avant-garde new piece conjures a dangerous, kaleidoscopic world, combining narrative dance and drama.

Ever heard of rapper sword? Hmmm… probably not, well it has absolutely nothing to do with rap music, highland dancing or fencing, also the swords aren’t actually swords. Confusing huh? Rapper is a fast-paced style of 5 interconnected dances each using a “rapper” or short-sword made of flexible spring steel with no sharp edges. Its origins lie in the mines of North East England but it is now danced across the globe Rapper is generally dances in pubs, a festivals and sometimes competitions. Green Man Sword is a new local team currently recruiting new members. We’re lucky to have an experienced sword dancer and teacher to provide expert tuition. We have a couple of successful tours under our belt and a couple of festival invitations for next year, so come and join our friendly team - no experience necessary, we’ll teach you all you need to know. We are also on the lookout for musicians - suitable instruments for rapper include fiddle, whistle, recorder, melodeon etc
