Our annual summer market and fun day. There will be a wide range of market stalls in our main hall with bouncy castle, face painter, St. Luke’s tombola and merchandise stall, BBQ, hook the duck, lucky dip, craft activities in and around the garden area. Native woodlands and the way they have been managed are an often-overlooked aspect of our history. The course will begin with an introduction to and history of native woodlands, looking at what defines a native tree and moving on to the state of our woodlands in the present day.
This garden is not all about roses! It is a wild flower and wildlife paradise. Since building our turf roof house in 1995 we have trialled waste materials to grow plants and mimic brownfield habitats as well as getting plants and soils onto buildings and urban infrastructure.
The garden comprises of 185 metres of island beds and borders sited on acre. Some of the borders are elevated from the house resulting in steep banks which provide a different and interesting aspect. Salvia, dahlia, hedychium, brugmansia peak in the summer months.
